In honouring the World Environment Day, which is celebrated on the 5th of June every year, we think it’s the perfect time to list the four small habits that can help environment we can all do right now. They are an important change in our behaviour, easy and cost absolutely nothing. We just need to act now.

Ready? Here are habits that can help environment.

1.Choose sustainable seafood is the first habits that can help environment

Food production is a major driver of wildlife extinction, especially in the underwater world. There are many websites and apps available to choose sustainable seafood from such as Fish Watch or Seafood Watch. These sites can help guide us on which species are overfished that needs to be avoided or which contain levels of mercury that pose a health risk

2.Shop wisely by buying less plastic-packaged products and bring a reusable shopping bag.

Plastics are not biodegradable. They sit in landfills or often end up polluting the ocean and infiltrating food sources. We Can use our purchasing power and make sure our money goes to positive change by supporting eco-friendly products which are less damaging to the environment. Then we will be encouraging companies to source and produce their products in a sustainable way.

3.Conserve water

The less water we use, the less runoff and waste water that eventually end up in the ocean. Turning the tap off while brushing your teeth can save five gallons of water per day or shortening your shower time by just two minutes can save more than ten gallons of water.

4.Long lasting light bulbs

Using energy efficient light bulbs reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Also flip the light switch off when leaving the room. Not only will this habits can help environment, but it will also save your bank balance too. By replacing just one lightbulb, the effect can be tremendous.
